Skin Care Tips For Dark Skin Moisturizers

Because the characteristics are immanent to each ethnicity, then the right ethnic skin care regimen is essential to ensure proper care.

Caucasian Skin. Caucasians, especially those from the Northern and Eastern European countries, as well as those all over the United States, United Kingdom and Australia have fair ivory skin. Their complexions tend to be thinner. Their pores are fine, and they may have freckles (most specially so if the hair is red). Scars may heal fairly well in Caucasian skin, but the skin is usually drier and is more at risk to sensitive or allergic reactions to environmental factors.

Oil, grease, blackheads and the like are not usually evident in Caucasian skin. This type of skin burns easier and is more at risk for skin cancer. For good Caucasian skin care, it is important to implement a routine using sensitive skin care products. Sunscreen should also be part of the regimen.

European Skin. People from the Mediterranean areas or southern parts of Europe tend to have beige to olive skin. This skin type is usually thicker than Caucasian skin, and may have normal to large pores. Beige or olive skin is usually prone to oiliness, whiteheads, blackheads or acne. They do not show early signs of aging, and their wrinkles usually appear later than Caucasian skin. Skin cancer is uncommon for Southern European skin.

A good Mediterranean or Southern European skin care regimen should include the use of a mild cleanser, a toner and an oil free or water based moisturizer. This is because the skins pores are usually bigger, making it prone to oil and grease and the problems that come along with it.

Asian skin care is different, and is a bit more simple. Asian skin tones range from light to deep yellow undertones (for Chinese and Japanese) to light to dark brown (for Indonesians and Indians). Their complexions are thicker than Caucasians, and pores are large. Most skin types are normal to combination dry and oily skin.

Japanese skin care, and for those in the northern parts of Asia, need a different skin care routine. These countries experience cold and winter, thus, people from these areas usually need cream moisturizers to keep their skin from drying out.

Countries in Southern Asia are hot and humid, thus, oily and greasy skin may be a problem. This type of ethnic skin care requires a mild and water – based moisturizer. This is needed so as not to clog the pores but still keep the skin moisturized.

Black skin has light brown to dark brown undertones. Aging is not usually a problem since wrinkles and lines do not make early appearances. The only focus for black skin should be oil and grease. This is because black skin is usually thicker, has bigger pores and more oil glands. An exfoliant should be used on the skin at least once a week, as well as ethnic skin care products suitable for oily skin.

Ethnic skin care differs and depends on ethnicities and location. While skin types and color are different, there’s one thing that’s common to all. Regardless of skin type, the sun can still damage the skin. Thus, it should always be protected with a moisturizer that contains SPF protection.
