Night Moisturizer for Your Extra Skin Care
You’ve probably come across day moisturizers and night moisturizers – or a set of both. This may bring you to the questions – do you really need an extra strong anti-aging night cream in the evening, and another one during day time? Or can you simply use your regular day cream before you go to bed?
There are actually no rules that dictate that you should use a night face cream as your moisturizer at night. However, most people usually use SPF moisturizer during the day and find no use for its SPF properties at night time – thus, they use another aging moisturizer at night. Night Moisturizer - What Is It?
Unlike regular moisturizers, night moisturizers have better hydrating properties. These face creams are usually better when it comes to hydration, and are thicker when it comes to consistency. Of course, these aren’t the type of moisturizers you would be comfortable using in the morning. They also have added benefits. A natural night moisturizer can also double as an anti-aging night cream or a firming night cream or a neck skin care cream. And they can all do their wonders while you sleep.
Advantages of Night Moisturizers
One great thing about using these moisturizers is that when you use them at night, there are less external elements that wipe the moisturizer away. Thus, wearing extra strength moisturizers at day time can minimize its effectiveness. When you wear it at night, however, you can be certain that your face fully absorbs all the moisturizing goodness of the night moisturizer, without the wind, heat, wind or pollution in the way.
Another reason as to why night creams or extra strength creams are generally used at night is because most of these moisturizers are thick and creamy. This may be uncomfortable to wear during day time, especially under make up. The heat can cause the moisturizer to melt on the skin and can cause excessive sweating – thus, clogging the pores. Pollution and dust may also worsen the problem and make things all the more uncomfortable. Thus, these moisturizers are only suitable to use during the day.
Night skin care also allow you to take care of the neck by slathering on moisturizer on the neck up to the décolletage. This is again, something that most people find uncomfortable during day time – especially in humid places.
Day Moisturizers
For day wear, lighter moisturizers are much more suitable. These do not cause discomfort to the wearer, and can be worn even in the sweltering heat and under make up. Light moisturizers are also usually used by those with oily skin, as they do not clog the pores.
Night Care Regimen
Of course, you should use night moisturizers just as you would with a day cream. Cleanse the face first with a facial wash that is suitable for your type of skin. Then, follow it up with a facial toner. After that, apply the moisturizer on. A pea size amount is sufficient for the neck and face. Remember to let the moisturizer dry before going to bed – lest it transfers to your pillow. Then, you can now get ready to go to bed.
